First Boca Jewish film festival to take place

The Adolph & Rose Levis Jewish Community Center’s Phyllis & Harvey Sandler Center will present the inaugural Boca Raton Jewish Film Festival from March 19-26 at the Cinemark Palace 20 in Boca Raton.

For this one week in March, the Cinemark Palace 20 (located at 3200 Airport Road) will be the hub of Jewish film in Palm Beach County.

The festival kicks off with a Gala Festival Red Carpet Kickoff at the Wick Theater (7901 N. Federal Highway) in Boca Raton at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, March 13.

In addition to the gala reception, the movie “Sabena Hijacking: My Version ” will be shown, including an appearance by Nati Dinnar, the film’s creator and producer.

The Boca Raton Jewish Film Festival (BRJFF) will feature an eclectic collection of 27 feature films, documentaries and short films from the United States, Israel and many other countries. The broad array of films explores the Jewish experience, culture, history and identity — as well as topics relevant to Jewish life.
